Opening up the Door again at Springs Road June 2020
We are opening up again over the long weekend; Friday the 5th, Saturday the 6th, Sunday the 7th and Monday the 8th June at Springs Road, after being closed for a couple of months or so. Come and see us! We will be open from 12-4pm.
We will be open for glass and bottle sales, takeaway sales and nibbles from our various friends from the island and on the Fleurieu. We will have to remember our social distancing rules and stand apart! We all know the rules now, don’t we? Plenty of sanitiser as well.
Of course we will have all of our Springs Road Wines available to buy by the bottle, case or glass: Shiraz, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Shiraz/ Cabernet and our super ‘Terre Napoleon’ Shiraz which is Joch’s selection of the best barrels of Shiraz from the 2017 vintage.
Make your way up the driveway from the Playford Highway (just opposite 761, down from Frogs and Roses) and take in the views on your way up. You can look back over towards Nepean Bay when you get to the cellar door. You can also pop in round the back way off Springs Road (no 183).
We have Pale Ale from Battle of Bosworth. For beer lovers, the Pale Ale is a generally considered a session ale, which I understand means it is nice enough to have more than one stubbie. Not being a beer lover myself, clearly. The Pale Ale is made using barley grown in front of the winery at Battle of Bosworth in Willunga, which means it is organic, too. Word around the street is there will be an organic whisky at some stage, but more about that later once Joch has seen fit to let us know.
We will have some of Jane’s wonderful Second Valley Cheese, plus some of our Spring Seed Organic bubbles ‘Gypsy’. We have a few other ‘friends’ in cellar door from Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed – namely the Spring Seed ‘Poppy’ Pinot Grigio, the Battle of Bosworth Sauvignon Blanc and the unoaked, preservative free Puritan Shiraz. Even more reasons to come and visit.
We’re putting the band back together as well for cellar door – well some of them, Annabel and Louise will be around, but Jane will be in her NEW cheese shop at Yankalilla, The Little Cheese Room Ruth Loechel is up in the desert keeping warm, but will be back on board soon. We hope to see you over the weekend!
If you are mooching about Cygnet River, you should make a day or half day of it, and stop in at our neighbours (once you have visited us!); Islander Estate Vineyards and KI Spirits. We are all within coo-ee of each other and have such great offerings. Make a day or half day of it. We look forward to seeing you…
